The DI technology, introduced in 1999 and used in all our direct injection Sea-Doo watercraft, has many advantages: chokeless, instant start-up; up to 75% reduction in exhaust emissions compared to two-stroke carbureted engines; improved idle control and automatic altitude adjustment without any sacrifice of performance; and up to 37% better fuel economy.

With this technology, an electronic control module (ECU) directs and coordinates the operation of the engine's fuel and ignition systems: the Orbital-equipped engine injects a precise amount of atomized fuel and air directly into the combustion chamber, allowing for much cleaner fuel combustion.
