Background

The Spruce Pine facility manufactures components for BRP's Evinrude E-TEC outboard engines. It also provides complex lost foam castings for all BRP products and for external customers in the marine, automotive, trucking, rail, construction, and the emerging alternative energy industries.

Infrastructure

This facility is one of the only plants worldwide to manufacture lost foam products with cast in inserts and to manufacture V-Block engines using the lost foam process.

Manufacturing Operations:

  • Metal casting, design and complex lost foam capabilities which include: expanded bead, foam moulding and assembly, 100% robotic coating operations; two aluminum cast lines, full heat treat capability, in-house impregnation, chromate conversion system (Lyfanite), epoxy paint and computer numerical control machining capabilities.

  •  Evinrude outboard engine components.
